Does He truly love me?

Bible Verses About Rebuilding

Before we get into the framework I want to encourage you with some Bible verses about rebuilding.

In life we can go through some pretty crazy situations, and maybe you feel like you don’t have enough faith to handle it.

You can be encouraged by Matthew 17:20, which says:

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (NIV)

Doesn’t it feel good to know that it only takes a little bit of faith – as small as a mustard seed in fact – to get God’s attention?

The second encouragement I want to give you is that God doesn’t expect you to rebuild alone. In fact, Psalm 127:1 says:

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. (ESV)

God wants you to partner with Him and involve Him in every aspect of what you’re doing. That should take off some significant pressure!

The third scripture I want to share with you is from Job 42:12-13:

The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. And he also had seven sons and three daughters. (NIV)

Job went through significant hardships in his life, losing all of his children and wealth. But in time, God helped Job to rebuild by restoring double what he before.

If God did that for Job, God can do the same for you. Whatever you feel like you’ve lost, be encouraged by knowing the next season of your life can be even better than anything you experienced before.

5 Steps to Rebuild

1. Reframe your belief in who God is.

God uses hardship for good (Romans 8:28), and His plans are for our good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Job’s story is a powerful example of enduring hardship while maintaining faith. Remember, trials can become platforms for God’s glory, bringing Him honor and blessing others through your testimony. God helped Job; He can help you!

With that in view, it’s helpful to accept remember we’re in a fallen world, Yes, God allows things to happen, but in the end He uses it for good.

If you struggle to believe God is good, pray and ask Him to help you.

2. Get prayer support.

Like the paralyzed man who Jesus healed in Mark 2:1-12, there might be times when we can’t help ourselves. We need other God-loving friends and supporters who can lift us up before God in prayer, and have faith on our behalf.

Ask God to show you who you can trust to pray for you and have faith on behalf of your situation.

3. Immerse yourself in the Word of God.

God’s Word offers us peace, wisdom, and perspective in both good seasons and difficult seasons.

When we take time in Scripture, He will use His Word to show us how to rebuild and He’ll empower us to keep going.

4. Listen to people who are where you want to be and have aligned values.

Listen to testimonies of people who went through similar struggles and overcame. Find people who are where you want to be in life and can offer perspective from the lessons they’ve learned.

This will encourage you, build you up spiritually, and make you wiser!

5. Write down God’s vision for your life.

What God-given vision do you have for your life? Where do you sense God wants you to go in life? Write that down! (And if you’re unsure, ask Him to show you.)

It’s ok if things change as you get more clarity, but writing down what God wants you to accomplish will help you take action and make progress.

Once you’ve done that, write down what it’ll take to accomplish that vision. What resources, connections, or skills do you need?

Last, write down what you’re missing to be able to accomplish it.

Now, you have a plan of action that can help you move towards God’s intended purpose for your life and faith!

When you see a clear path forward, you’ll feel encouraged.
