We often hear someone tell us, “God is in control,” and it feels like a platitude.
But I read something this morning that brought that truth to life again, and I want to share it with you.
It comes from Jeremiah 39:15-18. I encourage you to read it, but I’ll give you the summary…
In the midst of war and political distress in Judah, there was a man named Ebed-Melech who did what was right in God’s eyes. Because of his faith and integrity, Jeremiah prophesied that his life would be spared.
As I read that, it struck me how powerful God is, that He determines the outcomes… even in events such as war or political conflict that can feel out of control.
What is it that feels out of control in your life?
It might be a financial hardship you’ve faced for a long time, or a health problem you’ve prayed over and are still waiting for relief.
It’s easy to feel like God isn’t in control, but He is. And He sees you.
And remember…
God is still writing your story!
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:21
