How to Take the First Step When God is Nudging You

Sometimes we get really stuck on figuring out God’s will – so much that we end up not taking action on anything.

Some decisions carry a lot of risk and deserve that kind of patience. For many of us, though, God’s been nudging us with a dream and that patience is actually procrastination.

Has that happened to you?

It happened to me.

Here’s what I realized: When you don’t do the thing God purposed for you, you end up frustrated.

It’s either frustration from looking back and regretting not starting sooner. Or it’s frustration from suppressing your God-given gifts and passions.

I decided not to live in that valley of indecision any longer. And I want you to invite you to do the same.

It starts with one question – what is the smallest version of your dream that you can commit to today?

As momentum builds, you can increase the commitment when you feel ready. But in the beginning, focus on how you can start small and be consistent.

For me, that looks like writing emails again and sharing short-form videos on my ministry channel and personal YouTube.

What does that look like for you? (I’d love to hear about it, so leave a comment and let me know.)

And remember…

God is still writing your story!

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 NLT
