Bible Verses for Money Anxiety

Before we get started, let’s go over some Bible verses that help us understand what God’s Word says about having financial peace.

Philippians 4:19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

This is one of my favorite Scriptures for financial peace. In fact, I have it framed on my desk! It’s a promise that God will give us all that we need at the right time.

Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

God knows what we need, and He wants to meet those needs. But He also knows that our spiritual well-being is the highest priority, because that is what will last for eternity. If we will prioritize our relationship with Him, He will take care of our worries.

Luke 12:24

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?

This verse reminds us that God cares about all of His creation, especially human beings! He loves us deeply, and will make provision for us. If God doesn’t abandon the birds, surely He won’t abandon you.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

This is a powerful promise from Jesus to His followers. It encourages us that His peace doesn’t come and go based on circumstances, but instead it’s long-lasting even through the difficulties we go through.

Steps to Financial Peace

God desires you to have peace in your life, including with your finances! If you’re tired of battling worry and anxiety regarding money, here are some practical steps you can take today.

1. Renew your mind.

The first step is to renew your mind in God’s Word and give your relationship with Jesus first place in your life. This is foundational!

2. See what the Bible says.

Dig into what the Bible says specifically about financial stewardship and ask God to help you apply what you learn. Applying biblical principles like tithing, paying off debt, budgeting, and investing will help you follow a proven plan for future success.

3. Examine your situation.

It’s important to consider if we’re the ones holding back the answers to our prayers. It could be God’s timing. It could be spiritual warfare. Or, it could be practical changes we need to make on our end. Examining our situation helps us know how to approach it. We can always ask God to show us any blind spots we have if we’re unsure.

4. Remain faithful.

Once we’ve done our part, we need to remain faithful and put the outcome in God’s hands. God is sovereign and answers prayers in His timing!

Summary

If money anxiety has been stealing your peace, remember that Jesus died to give you freedom.

If you apply the steps to financial peace listed above, I believe you’ll start to live in true peace with your life and money.
